Dr. Eric Brown Named Distinguished University Professor

Dr. Erin Brown, principal investigator at the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research, and professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences.

Congratulations to IIDR’s Dr. Eric Brown on being named a Distinguished University Professor.

Dr. Eric Brown is a Professor within the Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences and is the Director of the Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization Program at McMaster University. He holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Chemical Biology and studies bacterial molecular genetics and cell structure biogenesis. Dr. Brown’s research explores largely uncharted aspects of complex bacterial biology that underlie bacterial survival, with the ultimate goal of contributing fresh directions towards new antibacterial therapies. He has received this prestigious honour for his demonstration of internationally impactful research and excellence in teaching & learning.
