Every year, scientists make a prediction as to which strains to put into an influenza vaccine. However, a perfect match is difficult to estimate, resulting in much confusion regarding flu shot efficacy. In an interview on CBC’s The Morning Edition, IIDR’s Dr. Mark Loeb explains why this year’s flu season has resulted in especially conflicting numbers on flu shot efficacy.
