Two researchers at McMaster University have been awarded federal grants totaling $25 million for their pioneering developments in patient-oriented health care, Canada’s Minister of Health announce today.
Dr. Norm Buckley, professor and chair of anesthesia for McMaster’s Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine and scientific director of the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Pain Research and Care, along with Dr. Paul Moayyedi, professor of medicine and clinical research lead of the Farncombe Family Digestive Health Research Institute, will use the funds to further enhance healthcare systems and practices.
Following the announcement, the Honourable Dr. Jane Philpott toured the state-of-the-art facilities at the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research (IIDR).
